TOPIC: PROVOKING AND SUSTAINING DIVINE ATTENTION BY SACRIFICE

AUGUST 12, 2018 SUNDAY SERVICE

FIRST FRUIT HARVEST

TEXT: Deut 32: 3-9, Prov 3:9-10

There are 3 nature of God

a. Omnipotent

b. Omnipresence

c. Omniscience

Some of the characters of God are;

1. He is unchangeable, dependable and reliable

2. He cannot lie (Num 23:19)

3. He is faithful and just.

A) THE INITIATIVE OF NOAH. (Gen 8:15-22). After the flood, God asked Noah and his family to leave the

Ark together with all the animals that were brought into the ark. After all these were done, Noah built

an altar to the Lord by sacrificing burnt offering. That sacrifice pleased the Lord and He promised never

to destroy all living creatures again.

B) THE DEMAND FROM ABRAHAM. (Gen 22:1-18). The Lord required Isaac from Abraham as a sacrifice

and despite the fact that Isaac was the only son of Abraham, he did not refuse. He selflessly went ahead

with the sacrifice. God was moved and He blessed Abraham by promising to make him father of nations.

C) THE HEART OF DAVID. (1 Chron 21:22-26). King David needed a good site to build an altar to the Lord.

Arauna offered to give David his land for free but David refused. He said that he would not offer any

sacrifice that will cost him nothing. He paid for the land, built the altar and sacrificed the burnt offering.

The Lord answered him immediately.

D) THE STYLE OF SOLOMON. (1 Kings 3:4-5). Solomon offered to God a thousand burnt offerings on the

altar and God gave him the opportunity to ask Him of anything He wants

E) THE RESULT OF ELIJAH. (1 Kings 18:30-39). In Elijah’s case, he had a right relationship with God, he

built the right altar, prayed the right prayer, and did the right sacrifice. These actions produced

uncommon results.

TOPIC: WAR AGAINST BARRENESS

WHAT IS BARRENESS?

a) The state (usually of a woman) of having no children or being unable to have children.

b) The Quality of yielding nothing of value.

Barrenness can also mean being at the region of Restlessness, wretchedness, expecting, nursing,

nurturing, experiencing stress without success.

GOD IS THE GOD OF FRUITFULNESS

Infact, fruitfulness is a DIVINE MANDATE. Gen 1:27-28.

27) So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him, male and female created

He them.

28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them. Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth,

and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowls of the air and over every

living thing that moveth upon the earth.

IN LIFE,

 No planting, No Harvest.

 No Location, No Allocation

 No resistance, No progress

 No command, No obedience

 No labour, No wage (Reward)

BARRENNESS can be a function of internal or external factor.

Internal when the reason is intrinsically embedded or is in the nature of the land or business.

External when outside factors are acting upon the land or plant or business to deny it productivity.

Where favour is lacking, Labour is abounding. But when favour meets with labour, success in inevitable.

Again, where preparation meets opportunity, success is inevitable.

Barrenness ends when a person discovers his need for fruitfulness and discovers the keys to abundance

and recover all he has lost over the years. Every problem has in it the seed of its solution. If you are not

informed, you will be deformed.

Moses had in his hands a ROD which God used to make him perform miracles to set the Israelites free.

The widow who came to Elijah also had a jar of oil at home which God multiplied to help her sell and

make money.

The seed for success is already in you. What you can handle comes to you with the level of maturity.

Refusal to use your talent which everyone is given brings about barrenness. Bloom where you are; use

what you have, it has capacity for multiplication.
